No, no and no. On TripAdvisor and Google, every restaurant claims to be the best at everything and the star ratings are gamed. Best Eats asks one question per restaurant: which dish does it truly nail? No reviews, no bought stars, just fair votes. You vote, we count. Done.

Because nobody needs to read 400 paragraphs about someone's cold soup. One vote beats a thousand whiny reviews. Pick one dish per restaurant and get on with your day. Gastronomic democracy, minus the drama.

How does voting work?

Each user gets 1 vote per restaurant: you pick the dish that place does best. No cheating, no double votes. Votes add up per dish and per city to build the rankings, like the best francesinha in Porto.

Is Best Eats only for Portugal?

For now, yes. Portugal has enough food to keep us busy for years: francesinhas, a thousand kinds of bacalhau, pastéis de nata, leitão. We conquer Portugal first; the world can wait its turn.

Does it cost money?

Zero. It's as free as the bread on a tasca table (the one nobody ordered but everyone eats). You just need an account to vote, to keep it 1 vote per person and the ranking honest.

Of course not, this is a food site lol. The suggestion box is for dishes, not for fast-food chains with a thousand identical counters. Tell us about a francesinha, a bifana, a leitão worth fighting over. A Big Mac already has enough ads, it doesn't need your vote too.

Vote away, but one account gets one vote per place, same as everyone else. No army of fake accounts, no your mom and your aunt and your dog voting at 3am. We catch rigged votes, and then your café drops to last place out of pure spite.

What if I disagree with the ranking?

Then vote, genius. The ranking isn't some critic's verdict handed down from a tower, it's just the votes. Don't like who's winning? Round up your hungry friends and out-eat them at the ballot box. Democracy, but with gravy.
